Dear concerned homeowner,
It has come to our attention that you are currently suffering financial conditions and are concerned about loosing your home to foreclosure. We WANT TO HELP YOU! Simply send us $10,000 and your first born child and we will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Our procrastinating agents will gladly take the money you can not afford to pay, the very money that you should be using to pay your now delinquent mortgage. We will also charge you a $1,000 processing fee and $800 an hour to represent you.
Sincerely
Your local scam artist.
Before we go any further please allow us to explain that this is not a cheap poke at your expense but rather an attempt to show you what is happening all over the country with bogus mortgage modification agencies or as CNBC referred to them “Blood suckers and Bottom Feeders”.
(If you have been a victim of one of these scams we are not poking fun at your tragedy but rather bringing public attention to a very serious situation.)
The average homeowner is so concerned with loosing their home to foreclosure that they will do anything to avoid this foreclosure. Unfortunately the scam artists realize this and are capitalizing on this. Every day there is mention of another “Blood sucking Agency” on the news. These reports are attempting to bring our attention to the fact that these scam artists are out there, and they are looking to take the money you can not afford to give them.
They are even calling themselves ‘Government’ agencies and claiming that you, the distressed homeowner, have qualified to be part of their ‘special program’. Then they ask you for an exuberant upfront fee for their services. Naturally, once they get your money they disappear and you are left broke and homeless.
Do not let this happen to you. Your concern of foreclosure is very real and in no way a laughing matter. We realize the urgent state of affairs and plead for you to understand that while there are legitimate mortgage modifications agencies there are also far too many of these scam artists.
If you are contacted by one of these agencies do not fall for
the scam. No matter how compelling their letter may be if they are requesting money upfront then they are BAD NEWS. NEVER PAY A DEPOSIT TO A COMPANY CLAIMING TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR DISTRESSED LOAN.
CNBC news lately did a report on these scams and stated that these are the very same people that sold you a bad loan in the first place. As a result of the economy they have lost their jobs and now they are trying to take more money out of your pocket.
There are ways to identify the legitimate modification agencies from the scams, simply follow our suggestions listed below and you should be able to avoid being a victim of these scams.
1. As we have already stressed it NEVER PAY IN ADVANCE FOR SOMEONE TO REPRESENT YOU IN A MORTGAGE MODIFICATION. “. An honest reputable agency will not charge you upfront as a matter of fact they will probably offer you a free consultation.
2. Make sure you hire an agency that is going to fight for you and not just rollover and accept the first offer made by the mortgage company.
